The Early Days

The origins of Arctic Cat Snowmobiles date back to the early 1960s, in the small town of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, just a stone's throw away from the Alberta border. In 1962, Edgar Hetteen and David Johnson founded Arctic Enterprises, Inc., the parent company of Arctic Cat. The duo's vision was to revolutionize winter transportation, and that vision soon took the form of the first Arctic Cat snowmobile, the "Model 100" in 1962.

Industry First Technologies

In 1968, Arctic Cat made history by introducing the revolutionary slide-rail suspension system. This innovative design allowed for improved stability and maneuverability, setting the bar high for the snowmobile industry. Over the years, Arctic Cat continued to push the boundaries of technology and performance, introducing innovations like the AWS (Arctic Cat Walker Suspension) and the powerful ZR series, which showcased industry-leading horsepower and handling.

Modern Day 

Today, Arctic Cat continues to be a driving force in the snowmobile industry, providing riders in Alberta and beyond with machines that are built to withstand the harshest of winter conditions. The brand continues to innovate, introducing the revolutionary M-Series mountain sleds, designed for conquering the most challenging backcountry terrain, along with their Alpha One suspension technology that delivers enhanced maneuverability and  improved handling.
