Design & Features

Electric Start

If you need to restart your dirt bike quickly, the electric starter is a huge benefit when you have to get going again fast. Its lightweight lithium-ion battery is representative of the bike as a whole, both high performing and slight.

Large Radiator

Even when you’re pushing the limits of this CRF250R, it’ll remain cool in the heat of battle. This 2022 edition comes with a larger radiator, featuring more fins that are specifically angled to promote better airflow.

Flat Seat/Tank Junction

Adjust your seating on the dirt bike on the fly with ease thanks to the flat seat/tank junction. This design style allows you to move forward or back freely and quickly, letting you gain the control you desire.

Titanium Fuel Tank

The titanium fuel tank continues the theme on the bike of being lightweight and strong. It promotes a thinner design than the previous plastic tank, which both creates more space and also works to centre the fuel mass.

Performance

Engine & Upgrades

The DOHC engine has been improved in many ways, but most significantly is the way it keeps everything cool, and thus improves the available performance on the bike. The oil path to camshaft has been adjusted to increase flow, stronger camshaft older and cylinder head cut down on friction, while dual intake-valve springs and the adjusted rock-arm shaft help with heat reduction.

Improved & Upgraded Clutch & Transmission

The clutch has been modified to be even more durable in 2022. A ninth clutch plate has been added, along with an added spring in the damper chamber, improved lubrication and a stronger clutch centre. For the transmission, a new shift pattern is in place with better countershaft rigidity to cut down on friction when you go from second to third gear. Gear-Position Engine Mapping helps to provide the best power for every gear selection.

HRC Launch Control

If you’re looking for that big advantage over your competitor next to you, enter the HRC Launch Control. Simply push the button and select the mode, then hold the throttle and release the clutch and your bike will launch you around that valuable first turn.

Engine Mode Select

Choose your engine power delivery with just the press of a button. Pick between Standard, Smooth or Aggressive, depending on your needs. Activate it all just through its position on the handlebars.

Suspension & Handling

Light Frame

An improved engine needs an improved frame to go along with it, and the CRF250R provides it in equal measure. The frame of the bike has been updated to match that of the CRF450R, creating an even more stable ride while cutting down on 700 g of mass. A further 320 g are saved through a new rear subframe.

Showa Spring Fork

The 49 mm Showa spring fork is mounted in a triple clamp to help improve strength, with a slim design that keeps up its traditional design but adds improved handling and feel. A 39 mm piston diameter and 25 mm rod diameter combine for a comfy ride, one that’s always ready for action.

Improved Rear Suspension

For the rear suspension, Honda engineers modified the Pro-Link ratio, added a lighter spring, a 5 mm longer stroke and adjusted the damping characteristics to improve both control and handling. All this adds up to a 110 g reduction in the weight of the bike.

Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Tires

New for 2022 are Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires for both the front and rear. The unique tread patterns provide terrific grip in wide-ranging environments and track conditions.
