Design & Features
Sporty Ride
You’ll feel one with your bike thanks to the aggressive seating position that it harnesses. The bike achieves this through clip-on handlebars that are positioned lower and farther ahead to accentuate the sport-seating position. Comfort and convenience with an easy reach to the ground are mixed for an ultimate ride that will keep you in full control.
Comfort
Features on a sportbike always aim to do two-fold, make the rider more comfortable while also helping out the performance. Vents and ducts on the front cowl and side panels both help with rider comfort as well as maneuverability at high speeds.
Storage
The CBR500R sports bike may be a stylish motorcycle that’s fit to perform at the highest level, but it’s still more than able to bring along the cargo you need. The utility space underneath the seat provides convenient storage for a U-lock or to stash your gear.
Performance
Engine
Power and torque are produced at a large clip thanks to the 471 cc DOHC liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. Its square bore & stroke of 67 mm x 66.8 mm gloriously balances the power and torque needed to perform at such a high level.
Durable & Capable Build
It’s not just the engine that makes the CBR500R a performance beast, but the actual build of the motorcycle as well. The DOHC cylinder heads have narrow stems to cut down on weight and friction, while the roller-rocker arm assembly and shim-type valve adjustment create a lower valve-spring load, which reduces friction and makes for a slight cylinder head. Durability is improved thanks to a vanadium treatment on the pins in the silent cam chain.
Efficiency
Air intake and exhaust efficiency have been made to be as economical as possible, with the profile from the front air cleaner to the intake ports to the exhaust pipe was built to be straight as can be. Maximized efficiency in the CBR500R is all about many parts adding up to an economical whole.
Chassis & Suspension
Comfortable Ride Suspension
Your ride will stay comfortable and sporty thanks to the suspension system found on the bike. The front fork is highlighted by the new Showa 41 mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston USD forks, while the rear has been made to be around 1 kg lighter than the previous generation.
Wheels
Continuing the theme of multi-faceted features, the Y-shaped spike wheels not only look as stylish as the rest of the bike, but their lightweight cast aluminum materials help keeps the motorcycle incredibly agile.
Braking
With the power at your disposal on this sport CBR500R bike, you need braking to match and react just as quickly. The front is fitted with dual-piston brakes and radial-mounted calipers, while the rear users a single-piston caliper. Along with Honda ABS, you’ll ride with peace of mind knowing you can stop safely at a moment’s notice.
